"Mission Accomplished"

Those two words were uttered over 7 years ago by then-President George W. Bush after a curious and controversial decision to lead an invasion into Iraq the year before. Bush tried to say that the war was over back in 2004. Of course, it was just beginning, yet on December 15, 2011 President Barack Obama, arguably the greatest foreign policy commnder in chief ever, officially told the men and women fighting for our freedom that the war was over and they would be going home.

After 4500 casualties that arguably could have been avoided, and $800 billion dollars, U.S. troops are leaving the Iraqi people to fend for themselves.

The question on my mind is why couldn't this have happened sooner? What is the difference now? I am sure our soldiers don't care about why, they are just happy to be coming home.

I am too.
