Thought of the Day
I was thinking about the classic "Flu Game" (Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals) where Michael Jordan, ravaged by the flu and food poisoning, hit the go-ahead 3 pointer capping a 38 point night in a 90-87 win to put the Bulls ahead 3-2 in the series.
Jordan started feeling sick the off day between Games 4 and 5. The Jazz had won games 3 and 4 to tie the series going into pivotal game 5. I wondered if someone in a Utah restaurant or hotel wait staff intentionally poisoned Jordan's food to keep him out of the game.
If someone tried to take Jordan out, that person must be really sick when he/she sees footage of Michael's gutty performance. For good measure the Bulls went back to the friendly confines of Chicago for Game 6 to end the series.
That was one of the greatest NBA performances I have ever seen. I don't see anyone else playing that game the way Jordan looked.
That really worked out well, huh alleged Utah fan/poisoner
