Rocsi walks off the 106 & Park set
This tells you how much BET I've been watching lately. I was searching You Tube for video of the Cassie 106 & Park debacle and this came up http://www.therundown.tv/videos/misc-videos/rocsi-and-terrence-go-at-each-other-live-on-106-park/
For those who can't open the link, Terrence J was hazing Rocsi like she was an amateur for messing up the freestyle friday e-mail address (are they still doing freestyle friday?). Rocsi finally got fed up and walked off the set. Now if we remember the original hosts of the show AJ & Free you will remember how many times AJ fumbled while reading the teleprompter. Free never did him like that. Very unprofessional.
What day was this aired?
They both won their jobs through a contest and they looked like it in that clip.

Cassie & Diddy?
Rumor has it that Bad Boy recording artist Cassie and the man with many names is set to wed. There had to be a reason Diddy kept homegirl around after that 106 & Park debacle when she first came out. Diddy don't make excuses for poor performances on his watch. I don't know if this is true, but she has been making a lot of cameos lately.

McCain succumbing to age before our eyes
There has been so much recent talk that the American people set up Obama to win the Democratic nomination so it will be easier for Republican John McCain to win the election, but it looks like, left wingers, your boy is losing it right before our eyes. The man is going to be 72 this year, he already looks like he's close to wearing diapers again, but when you mistake Sudan for Somalia and Afghanistan for Iraq and you're supposed to be an expert on foreign policy... that's not a good look.
The clincher for me is when telling his Vietnam story for the umpteenth time, he said he gave the names of Pittsburgh Steelers players to the enemy when asked about his fellow soldiers. Well, word has it ol' Johnny boy used the names of Green Bay Packers. Now, that's a personal story you've told millions of times, and you can't remember what football team you used?
If some parts of the country is that sick to try to set Obama up by getting him nominated believing we would never elect a Black man, this is karma. Do you really want a man who can't remember foreign countries names running the United States?
This is gonna be ugly...
I love the way his campaign tries to spin the possible case of senility. They say he's human he's gonna trip over his words sometimes. Meanwhile they are sh***in' bricks behind the scenes.

Rick Ross a cop?
So I'm listening to Big Boy's neighborhood this morning, which is a station saving move for HOT 97 in my opinion, and I hear that Rick Ross used to be a correction officer. Rumors are rumors, but there is allegedly photographic evidence showing good ol' William Roberts in full C.O. gear. Now... in my humble opinion, there's nothing wrong with having a legit career and then deciding it's not for you. "The Boss" decides he's gonna pull a Roger Clemens and deny the pic is of him, saying his face was put on another body. Well if that's the case, that was some good editing cuz the body look the same too, especially the gut. First Akon exaggerates how much time he spent "Locked Up" then we had to hear how he was locked up in about ten different songs and cameos when he didn't really do any significant time in jail, now "the biggest boss that you seen thus far" has the nerve to bite Biggie's lines and say he's street and "100% real" then turn out to be a cop?
These rappers are really looking like performance enhanced baseball players to me... frauds.
What's next? Lil' Wayne has a ghost writer?
I definitely won't believe that one...
Just my thoughts ladies and gentlemen

Rising Down
Is there a beat harder than "Get Busy" off The Roots' latest album "Rising Down"?
I don't think so... I see why Questlove was nodding his head so hard in the video clip.
Turn your car or home stereo up when playing that song to see what I mean.

Obama vs. OJ
I hope Black people are getting behind Obama because they feel he can genuinely foster change in the country and not because he is Black. I just had this vision of the racial divide that overshadowed the OJ trial. It got to a point where Black folks didn't care if he was guilty, they just wanted a Black man on trial for allegedly killing two white people to get off. Obama is a marvelous orator who gives a real sense of hope for the country that crosses racial boundaries. Still there are no doubt some ignorant people that believe Obama winning the presidency is sticking it to the White man. That would be plausible if that was the shit Obama was shoveling, but there are a sea of white people, smiling white people, at all his speaking engagements.
Obama is not OJ
Totally off topic: remember when OJ was a sideline reporter for NBC football? That seems so long ago...

Lil' Wayne the best rapper?
I'm kind of hesitant to crown Lil' Wayne the best rapper. I don't know if he is actually writing his own stuff. He claims he doesn't write (how many rappers have said that since B.I.G. and Jay-z made it popular - please, Tupac wrote his lyrics down, can we stop? Y'all don't write cuz someone is writing for you), but I can't help but think about Lil' Wayne the Hot Boy rapping about cars and hot girls and bling, now he's rapping like he's from New York with no sign of the Birdman on his latest album.
I'm not convinced...
I think I made the analogy between today's rappers and the athlete in the steroid era: You see a great, superhuman performance from an athlete or a rapper and you get excited, then you see a rapper like, um, Fat Joe suddenly goes from "Flow Joe" to "Lean Back" and you hope they improved on their own, but nope it was the damn performance enhancers. In Joe's case Remy Ma. Sucks.
Lil' Wayne better pay his writer Shaq mistress money to keep that dude quiet forever because that would be a major letdown if this guy (Wayne) is, like I suspect, a fraud. Hey, even Bow Wow could recite other people's lyrics well, he made a "Mr. 106 and Park" career off of it.

Crabs In A Barrel
I know I'm late on this, but it disgusts me how Jesse Jackson is so blatantly hating on Barack Obama. Your time has past, be happy you kept hope alive during the 80's and take pride in the fact that you started the possibility that there could be a Black Presidential candidate and keep it moving. Black folk just can't be happy for each other. Obama is making history just by being nominated and he has a realistic chance of winning in November, get behind the man and put your agenda aside for a few months.

"10 Books to read before you Die?"
I apologize for the delay in posts. I took an extra long 4th of July break. Hope everyone had a safe holiday. I logged on to AOL this morning and this immediately caught my eye. According to a poll taken on "Netscape"(?) these are the 10 books everyone should read before you die. While there are certainly classic tomes in American history on this list, there are no books by African-American authors. No "Invisible Man", no "Autobigraphy of Malcolm X", no "Native Son". Check out the list and see what you think.
